1. All models must
be the sole handiwork of the modeller as
stated on the entry form.
2. Entries must be made from plastic
model construction kits or scratchbuilt
from plastic.
3. The Head Judge and the IPMS
Organising committee reserve the right
to exclude any entries they consider
offensive to generally held standards of
taste and acceptability.
4. JUNIOR division entries are limited
to entrants who have NOT YET attained
their sixteenth (16th) birthday. Junior
members may enter their models in the
Senior classes. All such models will
then be ineligible for any special
Junior awards.
5. Public entries will go into the OPEN
Competition.
ELIGIBILITY FOR ENTRY INTO THE IPMS NZ
NATIONAL COMPETITION
1. Current membership of an IPMS NZ
branch, an overseas IPMS branch or a
model club participating at this event
is required. Entrants will be required
to provide proof of current IPMS
membership or participating club
membership on the day of the
competition.
2. Models that have placed (i.e. 1st,
2nd, 3rd or special category win) in
any previous IPMS NZ National
competitions are NOT eligible for
re-entry into this competition.
DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES
1. 11am on Saturday 21st September 2013
2. Late entries will be accepted at the
discretion of the Head Judge.
3. All entries must be made on the
official entry form and payment
received.
CONTEST & JUDGING
1. Models may not be moved once placed
on the competition tables except by the
HEAD JUDGE or his/her appointee or the
Competition Secretary. Any models moved
without the authorisation of the HEAD
JUDGE will be disqualified.
2. Models may not be removed from the
display before 4pm Sunday 22nd September
without prior approval.
3. The Awards Ceremony will be at 2pm on
Sunday 22nd September 2013.
4. Judges will be appointed by the IPMS
Auckland organising committee.
5. Models will be judged for build
quality, finish and accuracy.
6. The organisers reserve the right to
add, delete, split or merge any
category.
7. ALL JUDGES DECISIONS ARE FINAL
DEFINITIONS
1. Models made from non-plastic
materials are ineligible.
2. Plastic is any thermoplastic or
thermosetting polymer, resin or other
materials which may be formed by heat,
pressure, vacuum forming or other forms
of moulding. It includes but is not
necessarily limited to polystyrene, ABS,
celluloids, polyethylene, vinyls, epoxy,
polyester resins, fibreglass, acetates,
acrylics, nylon, other synthetic fibres,
neoprene.
3. Models that are made from kits sold
in pre-assembled, partially
pre-assembled, or in
pre-painted form are ineligible.
4. LEGO or building
block type construction kits are
ineligible.
5. White metal kits shall be allowed in
Class F Figures due to the preponderance
of metal kits over plastic in these
particular areas of the hobby.
6. Bases are allowed in all categories,
but will not be considered in the
judging except in diorama classes or
where 2 models are tied for a placing.
7. A diorama shall generally be vehicles
or figures on a single scenic base
depicting a scene.
8. A single figure, vehicle, aircraft or
ship displayed on a base with primary
crew figures if included with the kit
will not usually constitute a diorama.
However the addition of additional
figures, equipment, foliage, buildings
etc will.
WAIVER
Although all reasonable care will be
taken by the organisers to ensure the
safety of models entered in the
competition, all models are placed in
the competition at the owner's risk. The
organisers will not accept any
responsibility or liability for loss or
damage.
